Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Four youths, including three minors, have been arrested in connection with the death of a 14-year-old girl who died after she allegedly fell from the roof of her apartment late Wednesday, but police have not yet determined whether she was pushed or fell accidentally.
Dhanbad Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjeev Kumar and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Amar Kumar Pandey said the postmortem of the girl was conducted on Thursday. "No FIR has been lodged in the case till Thursday late evening as the family members are yet to file a written complaint," the SP said.
The girl lived on the first floor of the house with her parents. She was last seen in the evening walking in the garden of the apartment. Around 5:50 p.m, she then took the elevator to the roof and fell after a while. She was taken to SNMMCH, where doctors declared her brought dead.
“Her parents suspected that three Class 12 students living in the same building and an older youth might have killed her, as they were often seen talking to her. We have detained all four and are interrogating them,” said DSP Pandey.
